Imagine going to a school where there is nowhere decent to take a selfie, no time to stop and smell the roses, or you literally don’t want to be there. This is the reputation of Southern Methodist University.
Recently, this school was named “The Ugliest and Most Unsuccessful Private University” and it's completely understandable why.
Students and alumni come from all over the country for these things call “Boulevarding.” Why would anyone want to spend hours outside just to get hyped up for a football game? From what I’ve seen, it doesn’t even look that entertaining.
SMU fans have no spirit at all. The basketball team won the American Athletic Conference last year and this is what the fans do in return? The basketball team won 18 games in a row this year with no fan support at all.
Who cares if former President George Bush has a library on the campus, teaches classes every now and then, and went to almost all of the basketball games. (I have no clue what Laura Bush is doing in this photo.)
If you walk around campus, there is no building or walkway to take a photo of to plaster all over social media. Even the rainy and gloomy weather agrees that SMU is not pretty in any way.
Also, why would any fun and awesome college student want to live in Dallas? I can’t tell you any fun things to do. Who would want to see the Dallas skyline, which was named the best skyline in America, every day and have the best career opportunities?
Just look at these students. Who cares if they have plans to become a physical therapist, broadcast journalist, or a human rights activist? They honestly have no chance at success, especially the girl in the sloth shirt.
They are constantly building new dorm rooms and buildings for students to learn in. This will only influence more students to choose SMU over TCU. Also, does SMU really need four different Starbucks in walking distance?
I really hope that these key points explain why Southern Methodist University is the worst school to attend. Who would want to join a private university that costs more than their car, where former presidents just hang around all the time and each student has high hopes? Apparently, the SMU founders have been doing something wrong for the past 100 years.
Have a happy late April Fool's Day! SMU was actually named Huffington Post “Most Beautiful Campus in America” and it is the best university that there is. Pony up, y’all!
