Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to wait. Whether it's waiting for your mom to call out that dinner is ready, waiting for your sizzling food to sit long enough for you to eat it, or waiting for someone. Waiting is hard. Whether it's waiting for someone that is taking too long of a shower, getting ready and curling their hair before getting ready to go somewhere, always running a half an hour late, waiting for someone to finish their food because they're a slower eater than you are, or waiting for someone simply because they're not ready. Waiting is everything. When it comes to finding someone you want to spend the rest of your life with, timing is the hardest part.
When you find that person, you just know. It's not even a question. It's pure intuition. With this being said, sometimes the heart knows what the mind cannot explain. And that's a hard spot to be in. Especially since feelings are unique to each and every individual, this means no one else can feel what you are feeling at this exact moment. No one can even try.
The best we can do is attempt to describe the sensations we feel within us. When there's the right feeling but not the time, we must learn that maybe you are not meant to be together for today, but meant to be together in the future. If you see this person as "something worth waiting for," it simply cannot be rushed. If someone is really worth it to you, patience is key in building an unbreakable foundation.
Other times, two people immediately hit it off and a new relationship blooms. This is also an unexplainable feeling, as people believe the relationship to be a "fling," not serious enough to reach a future. But in each other's eyes, no one has ever been more amazing or more in love.
Truth is, there are all different kinds of relationships that work out for different reasons. From an outside perspective, many relationships don't make any sense. There comes a point in your relationship where you make the decision that this is the person you see potential in and can see it going further. You can picture a future with them.
That in itself is one of the best moments. Not only do you get to spend right now with your loved one, but possibly continue to go on adventures until the time when both of your hair turns grey, skin begins to wrinkle and sag, and you're no longer racing around the soccer field, but around the aisles of the grocery store with your walkers or motorized scooters.
If I'm being completely honest, I can't wait until I'm that person to someone.
