6 Things You Can Do With Rice And Your Best Friend
Diet Nutrition Advisor

Aside from eating, of course. There are so many things you can do with rice and your very best friend in the whole wide world!

1. See who can take the most Sriracha in their meal.

You might not need rice for this necessarily, but there's nothing like some good competition between friends. Just like a good, wholesome, fun game of Monopoly, try pouring Sriracha down your throat or coating your rice in the amazing creation. It's sure to create camaraderie and strengthen that special bond you have with your best friend. It's like the saying goes: keep your friends close, and your enemies closer, but also, see how much you can take to be able to beat both.

2. Make cute food!

If you and your BFF are crafty, you can totally try to make wild and awesome things out of rice! Of course, this means getting your hands dirty and sticky, but you have to make sacrifices for art. Maybe you'll create this cat, or a replica of Leonardo di Caprio, or even life-size Impressionist models of each other. There's no limit to what rice can make! The best part is that rice is something you can eat, so once you make portraits of each other, nothing will go to waste. Here's a tip: just adding even a little bit of water will make it stickier, but also clean off too-clingy rice, as when making sushi.

3. Reenact the entire Mulan Movie.

Rice comes up in Mulan a lot - from the introductory scene of Mulan, where she's counting it, to this scene where Chien Po is thinking about food, and even to that scene where it spills everywhere and everyone has to learn to work together in order to pick up every single grain that spilled from a boiling hot cauldron. Rice is pretty cool in that you could choose to just re-do these scenes with you and your friend as the main characters, or make them out of rice, like an elaborate, 3-D shadow puppet creation. It'll be a lot of fun, because when isn't Mulan fun? That's right, never. (Except Mulan 2. There are some less-than-fun moments in there. Also, when Shang's dad died. That was bummer too.)

4. Recreate snowball fights.

Man, wouldn't this machine be useful to have to make snowballs? But it makes rice instead, you might say. Well, there's no problem! Both snow and rice are delicious white things that can bring joy and save lives, though one is food and the other water. No matter the season, you and your best friend can have the fight of the century by throwing rice balls at each other. If they're made right, they'll stay in the ball upon impact (sort of) and be much less mess to clean up! Plus, you won't be wet and cold after your efforts.

5. Let it cool.

Hot rice is divine, but so is conversation. You two can have a lot of amusement just in talking with each other, but that means not using your mouths to eat rice. That's okay, though. Letting your rice cool as you speak to one another is really fun. If you haven't tried it yet, I promise you, it will be an experience you won't forget. It doesn't mean you just have to let your poor rice sit there, though! You can always just practice using chopsticks and commiserating the struggles together.

6. Make clothes out of Rice for each other.

There's nothing quite like expressing affection through arts and crafts. Make your BFF some fashionable gear out of the best thing there is - rice. They're sure to enjoy it, and even if they don't look their best, they can always adjust it on their own because rice is something they'll have, too! Plus, they'll have some snazzy new clothes. It's cool.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
