1. Spend some time with someone you don't usually spend time with.
Spending time with someone you don't typically see exposes you to new ideas, new energy and a new perspective. Call up that person you haven't seen in forever (we all have one!), and go grab lunch. Spend a little time catching up and invest in them. Investing in others is one of the best things you can do.
2. Explore.
Find a new part of your city, learn the history of where you live or just get outside. Spending time with God's creation always amazes me. (Seriously, I could look at clouds all day long.) Go out there and find something to look at. Looking at new things stimulates your brain and gets those creative juices flowing.
3. Go on Pinterest.
Find an easy (or hard, if you're feeling bold) DIY project, try out a fun recipe, pin some cute pictures of clothes or plan out your future wedding. A creative source like Pinterest is entirely visual which is bound to bring you an idea or just a little inspiration.
4. Do some research.
Learn about something you know a little about or about something you know nothing about. Learning new things is always cognitively rewarding, and I think the saying, "You learn something new every day," is so true. Let yourself experience something new and new ideas will come to you.
5. Watch or read something you haven't ever seen or read before.
Watch that TV show that's been sitting in your Netflix queue for years. Rent a movie and watch it with some friends or family. Watching things that suggest new ideas ("The Hunger Games" and "Divergent" are some popular ones, and the film "Never Let Me Go" is really interesting) challenge you to think. Reading is also a great way to get your brain working. "To Kill A Mockingbird," "Lord of the Flies," "Animal Farm" and "Fahrenheit 451" are some great classics.
6. Wait for the ideas to come to you.
Sometimes, it just hits you, am I right? It's in a sermon at church, a word you hear on TV or something someone says in passing. It hits you and you're like, "YES! This is what I've been waiting for!" It almost makes the time you've spent feeling uninspired worth it, or might that's just me.
