School for a lot of us were out formative years, we learned how to write, do math, interact with other students, and started gaining an understanding of the world around us. At the center of all of this was our teacher. They were our guide through school and although we were not perfect, teachers were not saints. So I made a list of six annoying things that teachers.
1. Group Projects
Group projects, one of many things every student has to, unfortunately, complete. They could be some of the greatest two weeks during the year or the worst. Usually, the teacher will assign you with the most unreliable group of students, leaving you to do all the work. Teachers always say “this teaches you how to work with others,” however that does not matter when your grade is on the line. They refuse to let you choose your own groups, and because of that, you are stuck explaining why you did so bad on your project.
2. Wasting Time Your Time Because You Wasted Their Time
Yes, we get it we are wasted class time, but you know what is even better than that? A 25-minute lecture about how we are wasting. Everyone has heard this speech about a dozen times, and at the end of it the teacher looks at clock only to complain about how much time was wasted.
3. Homework Over Vacation
“Have a great weekend,” and “Enjoy your break” are phrases that give us all a sigh of relief. But there one of the worst things to be followed up with that is being told you have homework assigned over break. So not only can you not enjoy a couple of days of being irresponsible you spend all of the break avoiding your responsibilities. Sunday night around 11 p.m. you rush to finish an assignment that should have been assigned before break started.
4. Not Accepting Homework
“Oh, by the way, I am not collecting that assignment anymore.” This one is can be bad or good depending if you did the homework the night before or not. If not, you are in the clear, being lazy paid off, give yourself a pat on the back. Now if you did your homework, or you are trying to catch up this is very annoying. Why do something if you do not get credit for it? “The important part is that you did it to learn.” That is a valid point but if it is going to affect my grade I am going to worry about it.
5. Last Year's Material
“Well, you should have remembered this from last year.” If I had a dollar for every time I heard this, I would be able to pay for my college and yours. Granted there are concepts that you should obviously remember from the year before, but do not that is when the problems start. This is usually in math class, and the teacher continues teaching a lesson. You are sitting there confused because of that one concept that you did not “remember” from last year. Sometimes it because the teacher from last year said you would “learn this next year.”
6.That One Student
There is always that one kid. They are the student who tries to be funny or is very obnoxious in class. You either love or hate this kid, but one time this student goes just a little bit too far with something they have done. Because of them, the whole class gets in trouble. You did nothing to deserve this, but you are there to sit on a mistake that you did not do. There is nothing you can say, or you will get into more trouble.
