Paul Abrahamian and Victor Arroyo stole most of America's hearts (including mine) this season on Big Brother. The duo, referred to by many as the Sitting Ducks, were rewarded monetary prizes just a few short days ago. Paul was announced as the second place winner of the season, although tons of fans (myself included) believe he should've won first place, and Victor won America's Favorite houseguest. More than the money, however, Paul and Vic won the love and support of fans.
Since returning back to reality, the houseguests from Big Brother 18 have been in constant interaction with fellow game players and their fans. While some house guests have been receiving messages of disappointment, disgust, and anger (I'm looking at you Paulie), others have received nothing but crazy amounts of love and kindness (Paul and Victor, and others I'm sure).
While in the Big Brother house (and the jury house), houseguests had no access to the real world. There was no social media access and no way to communicate with family and friends. Now that they're free, the BB18 players are realizing how much Big Brother has affected their lives. To Victor and Paul's surprise, they know have thousands of fans following their Instagrams and Twitters, begging for acknowledgement from their sitting ducks.
What makes Victor and Paul so lovable is that they're real. They didn't float their way through the game, and they're not floating their way through the fame. Both men are sticking true to themselves. Victor, who is referred to as El Fit Vic, constantly brags about being a Puerto Rican Sensation. He's proud of his culture, his family, and his life. He's so kind and lovable. And have you heard his laugh? Oh my God, that laugh. It's contagious and adorable.
Paul played a very socially dominant game. This man is observant, knows how to manipulate others through words and emotion, and isn't afraid to speak his mind. He called out players, he used friendships to get him further in the game, and his catch phrases really caught on. A few weeks ago, I wrote an article about why Paul deserved to win BB18. At that point, I was a hardcore Paul fan because of his ability to make me laugh and smile. But now, I'm an even bigger fan of his because of his personality. I know that you don't really know someone unless you meet them and spend time with them, but from what I've observed, he's a very confident and happy soul. He knows what makes him smile--being with his family and friends, singing, and designing shirts--and he lives with those priorities in mind.
Paul and Victor have been all over social media over the weekend. No matter if they were drunk and clubbing, hanging with friends and fellow houseguests, or waiting to fly home to be with family, they've been interacting with fans on social media.
Once they expressed their enjoyment with receiving gifs, fans started sending in tons of gifs hoping to get a response. And guess what? Your girl got a response from Vic already! #Friendship #ILoveVictor.
The truth of the matter is, Paul and Victor are relatable and funny, they're kind and lovable, and through this experience they're staying grounded. They're not taking this fame and trying to make tons of profit off of it. They're not trying to sell their autographs to make some quick cash (because how stupid would that be). They're genuinely enjoying the kindness and love that fans are sending their way.
El Fit Vic and Paul, you are my favorites because of they way you treat others and the way you treat yourselves. You remain true to yourselves and you prove that doing so can lead to happiness and success. Your ambition shows me that if I stay true to following my dreams, I can accomplish anything I want. Your laughs brighten my mood when I'm stressed and overwhelmed (#CollegeLife #EnglishMajorProblems).
I know that I'm not alone when I say that I genuinely love and admire Victor and Paul. I consider them friends, even if they don't consider me the same, because friends bring joy and positivity to each others lives. I love Paul and Victor and I wish them nothing but the best. Along with the rest of America, I cannot wait to see what great things the sitting ducks do in the future!
