The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is one of the most empowering movies about friendship to come out of the early 2000s. I think all of us can learn a thing or two from these inspirational ladies. They go through things that every friendship goes through, even the strongest ones. Everything their sisterhood stands for is something we should all strive for in our own friendships.

1. You are not always expecting to find a best friend, but when you do, don’t let them go.

I personally think Tibby and Bailey’s friendship is one of the most powerful in the movie. Tibby does not expect anything to happen to her all summer while her friends are off doing exciting things, but she may have learned the biggest lesson out of any of them; to appreciate the little things about people, and not to be too quick to judge someone, they might end up being one of your best friends.

2. When you fall down, true friends are there to pick you up.

No matter what you do, your real friends will always be there to help you, with whatever it is that you need. They won’t judge you for something stupid you did, because they know how good of a person you really are. Everyone has a breaking point, and everyone needs someone to be there for them when they do break.

3.Fighting with your best friends is normal.

We tend to be the meanest to the people that mean the most to us. We push them away, even when we need them the most, because we know they will always come back, no matter what. Sometimes even the best of friends get in a tiff here and there, and it is completely normal. Even the worst fights aren’t powerful enough to break up the most powerful friendships.

4. Sometimes friends know you better than you know yourself

In certain situations, your friends are going to know what is best for you, even if you don’t. You might not like what they have to say, but they have your best interest at heart, and know what is best for you. They are never trying to hurt you.

5. Distance tears us apart, and brings us together.

In the movies, the girls are constantly being torn apart by one thing or another, and sometimes it got the best of them. Distance is hard, being apart from your best friend for long periods of time, for lack of a better word, sucks. But no matter the distance, best friends, sisters, will always find their way back to each other. Nothing is stronger than sisterhood, even distance. When you are together it will feel like nothing has changed. Even though most of us don't have magic pants and letters to keep us together, we still have iPhones and FaceTime.

True friendship is something that everyone is this world deserves, and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants might be one of the best examples of this. They show us the difference between sisterhood and friendship, and it is beautiful to say the least.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
