A Thank You Letter To My Sisters

Thank you for everything you do.

A Thank You Letter To My Sisters
Kristi Gurule

My beautiful, smart, funny, and sometimes different sisters,

I do not say thank you enough. I should say thank you for answering my phone calls every day, sometimes with the most pointless of conversation topics but just needing someone to talk to. Thank you for loving me when I am in a terrible mood, which is more than you bargained for most of the time. Thank you for being there for the hard stuff, it is easy to celebrate victories and be excited for each others accomplishments, but seriously thank you for your words of encouragement and for sticking around for the messy, life throwing a curve ball events.

Thank you for looking like me, and letting me borrow your clothes. Thank you for bringing me a towel or plucking my eyebrows when I need it. Thank you for telling me I probably should not have posted that on social media, thank you for being my biggest fan.

Thank you for going to target with me at random hours, thank you for always inviting me to family dinners even if I come stag and never with a boy like you hope every time. Thank you for telling me the truth about the people I invest my time in, and understanding that sometimes I have to waste my time to learn a lesson from this. Thank you for having inside jokes and stupid catch phrases. Thank you for taking selfies with me and always smiling when I beg to take a group picture, you all know how much I love pictures. Thank you for having my back when I feel like no one does, thank you for funny group texts on a long day, thank you for sharing your kids with me; being an aunt is my favorite thing to be.

Thank you for letting me crash at your house for days on end when I don't want to go home. Thank you for sticking together when our lives flipped upside down, thank you for never forgetting where you came from. Thank you for giving me someone to look up to and for making me be someone you look up to. Thank you for Christmas mornings and Easter Sundays, thank you for Catholic Girls Camps in the summer and for supporting all of my extra curricular activities.

Thank you for being my best friends, my soul mates, the only people who truly to the core know where I came from.

We fight and bicker, love and comfort, and we support and laugh. Having sister was God's greatest gift, it is a forever best friend and a long time love. I am thankful for each of you strong independent woman, and the love we have between us.

Thank you,

XOXO

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
