A Letter To My Sisters

I may want to kill you, but I would kill for you any day.

A Letter To My Sisters

Dear my forever friends,

Throughout my entire life almost everything I have known has changed. The seasons, my hair color, my age, strange faces and friends around me. However, the one constant that has always been there when I looked back, was you. No matter how old I get you are always there rooting for me in my corner. I have spent every single day of my being with you. People truly do underestimate the relationships of sisters. A sister is the person you run to when you need somewhere to store your secret. A sister is the person who will laugh with you until you cry. The person who will eat an entire pizza pie and tub of ice cream while crying over your favorite chick flick just because you've decided tonight was a good night to cry. In this life sisters are the most precious gifts we have. Nothing beats a good girls night when everyone else in the world is driving you crazy. I am so lucky to have two sisters in my life. Don't get me wrong, we fight to the point I truly think I am going to rip the hair out of your head. But at the end of the day those are the fights I laugh about. We steal each-others clothes, shoes and makeup, but just so we are clear it's only okay when I do it. As the youngest sister, I have two real life examples of the kind of woman every little girl should strive to be. You are the most beautiful, intelligent, hard working, loving, kind, and funny girls I've ever met (and I'm not just saying that because I'm your sibling). Although we are complete opposites, I couldn't picture having anyone else by my side.Thank you for being my back bone and my support system. I have spent so many days wishing you would get off my back, but at the end of the day you are the only ones who will always have my back. Thank you for quoting movies with me and singing our hearts out during car rides. Thank you for not telling mom and dad when I accidentally hit you too hard you cry. Most importantly thanks for bringing me toilet paper when we run out, after all, what are siblings for? I'm thankful to have people I can party with and go on adventures with my entire life. I wish you nothing but happiness and love in your life. "And when you're out there getting where your getting to, I hope you know somebody loves you." There are days where I want to kill you, but not a day goes by that I wouldn't kill for you. Just remember... men, babies, it doesn't matter... we are soul mates.

A quick public service announcement: for anyone who thinks my sisters are crazy, just know that there is a little sister at home who is way crazier; especially if you mess with her sisters.

Love forever, your Deetdee.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
