One of the best things in the world is having a sister. When you have siblings, it is easy to just coexist, but if you make the effort to become friends with your siblings, you will get along better and have a lot more fun.

A sister is an automatic, lifelong best friend.

Without her, I would be a completely different person than I am today. I have someone to share all my secrets with, have inside jokes with and have someone to always give me advice. We have our ups and downs, but in the end, I know that she is always there for me and always has my back.

Having a sister allows for so many fun opportunities growing up. You always have someone that will play Barbies, dress up, tea party, school, and many more fun, girly activities that any little girl can think of. You always have a gymnastics partner, dance partner, and a cheerleader on your team. I hold all of those memories very close to my heart. You will always have someone to turn to in times of need, and someone to tell good news to.

She will always be in your corner and is always there to cheer you on.

Going to school with your sister is like going to school with your best friend. Even if you are not in the same grade, it is always comforting and exciting when you see each other in the hallway. You always have a lunch date and never have to eat alone.

You will have a second wardrobe and can borrow her clothes whenever it is convenient, just be sure to ask her first, or she might get upset. She will be your own personal comedian, she is always there to make you laugh, even when you don’t want to. She will do everything in her power to cheer you up when you are feeling sad. She will laugh with you and she will cry with you.

You will share the best memories together, from family trips, to car karaoke.

She will be there through it all.

Through the uncontrollable laughter to the point of not being able to breathe, to the heartbreak and tears. She will be your best friend and your supporter. Even though there will be times when you do not agree and do not get along, she will still love you with all of her heart. Even when you both get older and move away to go to college, she is only a phone call away and will still be there for you anytime you need her.

I thank my lucky stars every single day for giving me a sister. She is my best friend in the entire world. I had a 50% chance of getting a brother and I am beyond grateful that I didn’t because my life would be completely different. There are so many reasons to be thankful for having a sister, but I am most thankful for having a lifelong best friend.
