Obnoxious Christmas Decorations And 7 Other Things That Piss Off The Christmas Grinches

It's the most ~annoying~ time of the year.

Protest, Christmas, Christmas decorations, decorations, decorating, man, funny

If you're anything like me, Christmas always comes way too early. Wreaths and Christmas decorations are out on display in all the big shopping centers. Your neighbors have reindeer on their white, twinkling lawn even though Thanksgiving is two weeks away. It can be a lot. Here are a few things that other "Christmas Grinches" can probably relate to.

1. That same Mariah Carey song

This song along with her entire holiday album has haunted many a scrooge. Some have even witnessed others listening to it in the summer *shudders*. The best line of defense is to steer clear of radio stations subject to christmas music takeover as well as headphones in any department store between mid-November up until Christmas Day.

2. Premature holiday decorations

I understand getting a cute little wreath for the house, but do you need to hang giant inflatable christmas ornaments from the trees in your yard? Really?

3. Having an empty bank account from spending money on gifts

The holiday season calls for obligatory gift-giving. While it's a nice way to show people you appreciate them, I normally only have $10 in my account.

4. Having the holidays overshadowed by the terror of finals

It's so hard to feel in the holiday spirit when you are faced with the impending doom that finals bring.

5. The holidays are really lonely for a lot of people

Some people don't particularly enjoy the holidays due to family stresses or other things. And having everyone remind you of the holiday season can be depressing.

6. That dumb pajama commercial

If you or your family has cable, you might have seen that stupid Pajamagram commercial. If you haven't, go watch that big ol' mess.

7. Hallmark Christmas movies

They suck. There, I said it. I can't give my time to watching Christmas themed sh*t films that all seem the same.

8. Resenting the holidays because it was hyped up too early

I never understood why people start counting down to Christmas as early as September. By the time it's appropriate to get in the holiday spirit, you are sick of the idea of Christmas.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
