They say if a friendship lasts more than 7 years, then the friendship is going to last forever. In college, it's hard to maintain a friendship with someone that has been going strong since elementary school. Life gets busy for the both of you. Between classes, work, studying, and other friends, it gets hard to keep the friendship that you guys have. Being friends with someone for more than 10 years, you start to just become a part of their daily lives. Here are a few signs that you know you have been friends with someone for over 10 years.
1. You Basically Are a Part of Their Family.
Both of your familes always expect you to be at family functions. You are treated like each other's siblings. When you are at each others house, you help with clean up or help prepare dinner. Both parents aren't afraid to ask you to do chores around the house. It's not a family vacation without you bringing your best friend.
2. Your Parents Become Their Parents.
You call each other's parents by "Mom" and "Dad". You even get them gifts for their birthday's, Mother's Day, or Father's Day.
3. Their Fridge Becomes Yours.
Leftovers in the fridge that was yours, is fair game for you best friend to eat when they come over. Best friends for over 10 years have also learned to just buy food that you like so when you come over, you don't starve.
4. You Guys Have So Many Inside Jokes.
Over the years you guys have lost track of the amount of inside jokes you guys have.
5. You Guys Went Through The Awkward Stage Together.
Even after going through the awkward stage in 7th grade, you guys still remain to be best friends. You have learned what hair styles work best on each other based off both your awkward stages.
6. You Have Each other's Clothes.
After countless sleepovers at each other's house, you started collecting the clothes you "borrow" from each other. Odds are if you can't find your favorite shirt, check your best friend's cloest.
7. Their Pets Love You.
Even if you have your own pets, their pets will love when you come over and same with your pet.
8. You Can Go Weeks Without Talking.
No matter what you go through, your best friend will always text you something funny even if it's been weeks.
9. You Laugh At Pictures From Elemantary School Together.
Whenever you guys hang out, you always find a way to bring out the old yearbooks and laugh at everyone's picture including your own. Then you find yourselves taking about how you guys met each other.
10. You Guys Know That No Other Friendship Will Replace Yours.
You know that the friendship that you guys have is something special and nothing can replace that.
So best friend, thank you for being my friend for over 10 years and lets have many more years of friendship.
