Fast food restaurants sometimes have a bad reputation. Orders are often messed up, or sometimes the inside of the store seems to be a little messy. But if you work at a fast food restaurant, you know these things are not all that goes on at a fast food place, but so much more.

1. Minor cuts, scrapes and burns often occur.

Nothing to be alarmed about. We have to open a lot of boxes and make a lot of fries. Sometimes, it just happens when you're in hurry.

2. You don't understand "busy time" until you've worked at a fast food joint.

When lunch hour hits, you better be ready for the storm. Every fryer is loaded and the counter is manned with at least two people, ready to take the hit.

3. You get used to rude customers.

Even if they still make you angry, you get used to them eventually. Unless they're ruder than usual, then it's hard to forget.

4. You are always happy when you have happy customers.

They sort of make up for the grouchy ones.

5. You often go home smelling like greasy food.

Your pet may also follow you around the house until you change your clothes because you smell so good to them.

6. You will often see your friends while you're working.

This is especially true if you work at a more popular food franchise.

7. When you go in on your days off to get food, you try to go when it's not busy.

It's not that you don't want to stand in line. You're just trying to be kind to the rest of the employees.

8. The lobby seems to never really be clean.

No matter how many times you go out and clean it, it'll just be full of fries and ketchup within the hour.

9. Presenting the food at the window has to be one of the worst parts of the job during the winter.

No matter what you do, you just can't stay warm.

10. There's always something that isn't working.

Never has there been a shift when you work that every machine is working perfectly.

11. You love when there's a food mess-up.

Sometimes this means you get to drink that shake that someone else already made before you went to make it.

12. You love your coworkers.

Even though some people may look down at you because you work at a fast food chain, you don't really mind because this is probably one of the best jobs you've had, all thanks to your coworkers and managers.

Working at a fast food restaurant can be fun and challenging, and it's nothing like what outsiders think.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
