As a self-proclaimed "animal freak," there's indisputable differences between us animal activists and the rest of the world. As humans, we tend to have a superiority complex that our species is more important and worthy than other living creatures. However, there is a small minority of people like myself that believe that animals are just as essential to life as the all mighty homosapien. So, to anyone else who feels empathy for all species: you are not alone. Here are a few signs that you just might be the next member of PETA.
You annoy waiters by asking if the restaurant's meat is organic.
Your phone background is always a picture of one of your pets.
You were probably the weird "horse girl" when you were younger.
Anytime anyone says something about animals dying (even as a joke) you take it seriously and get offended.
You miss your dogs just as much as you miss your parents (if not more).
You have more pictures of your pets than of your friends and family.
You have yet to watch "Blackfish" because you know that it will probably send you spiraling into a path of darkness that ends with a prison sentence for threatening the founder of SeaWorld.
You are just as likely to save an injured rat as you are a kitten.
Roadkill makes you cry.
Anyone who wears fur automatically becomes your arch nemesis.
You don't care how weird/crazy other people think you are for thinking that all living creatures deserve equal rights.
You buy Dawn instead of other laundry detergents because of the company's efforts to rescue animals after natural disasters.
Years later, you still refuse to get gas from a BP.
Your dogs own more jackets than your little brother (true story).
Somehow you feel like you are betraying animals for wearing faux fur.
"101 Dalmations" is traumatizing to this day.
You are neither a dog or cat person because it's just too hard to pick.
You suffer through years of chemistry because you are going to become a vet no matter what.
Animals make you happier than anything and you can't imagine a world without them!
