When the end of the semester emerges through the clouds of endless stress, students know they are in a world of trouble. It is time to be tested and see if what we learned has actually stuck with us. No one really understands a college student’s pain until they have reached the stretch of those last two weeks of the semester. All the signs of spring are here, and you can't help but post pictures on social media with the hashtag "ready for summer." Yet, while the end is in sight, we have a lot to do in order to reach the finish line. Here are six signs that demonstrate you have entered your last two weeks of the semester.
You don’t really go to sleep anymore.
Let’s face it, being a college student means you never have a normal sleep schedule. However, when it comes to the final stretch of the semester, you find yourself pulling multiple all-nighters, ruling out any chance of sleep.
You’ve permanently been embedded in the library.
The end of semester blues makes you realize how you are spending most of your free time in the library. It seems that you checked yourself in, but it never becomes clear when you check out.
You seem to be stuck with unending list of assignments and a fast approaching due date.
All that work that you told yourself you would do at the end of the semester, yeah it’s time to get that done and boy, has it piled up. You find yourself questioning why you do this to yourself.
You realize there will be no more binge watching Netflix (at least for now).
Your daily Netflix streaming and surfing has indefinitely been put on pause for the next two weeks. You can’t risk starting a new show and being unable to stop!
You have a sudden interest in everything except your pressing assignments.
Hey, it happens to all of us, we type a couple of sentences, give ourselves a pat on the back, and then check to see how Twitter changed in the past five minutes.
You question more than once whether college is the right path for you.
You lay in bed, think about the blossoming flowers, and wonder whether college is going to benefit you in the long run. Trust me, it will.
Whether you’re a freshman or senior in college, you will eventually go through the universal struggle college students know all too well: the pain of getting through the last two weeks of the semester. Through the insane amount of papers, presentations, and finals, it seems that all the stress will never end. Just remember, you are not alone and once those two weeks are over, you are done with yet another part of your college experience! So be strong and study on!
