We all know someone who is studying some sort of engineering discipline, or they are already an engineer. Whether it's an acquaintance, parent, or a friend, there's an engineer in our life. Now, if you're a STEM major, like me, there's a huge chance that one of your closest friends, who may even have the honor of being called your best friend, is an engineering major. When your best friend is not only just your best friend, but an engineer, you hear so much more than the usual things best friends tell each other. You know, personal life updates, social life, relationships, hopes and dreams, etc. You hear things from them that would be unusual if someone else would have said it.
1. They’re always talking about the cool new innovative things that they bought or discovered.
2. They’re frustrated when someone doesn’t understand something that they just explained.
3. They’re constantly complaining that common household items could’ve been designed better.
4. Their computer runs slow due to programs like AutoCad and Solidworks.
5. You convince them not to drop out multiple times in a semester.
6. They’re convinced that their discipline is the best and throw shade at other disciplines.
8. They constantly complain about physics and other courses.
9. They will complain about the male to female ratio.
10. They believe that they are the saviors of the human race.
11. It is well established that electrical engineering is seen as black magic.
12. You supported your best friend throughout the entire journey, and I mean the entire journey.
You couldn't be any more proud of them for becoming an engineer, knowing that they will change the world, and you're thankful to call them your best friend.
