My grandmother always said that all you need in life is one good friend. If you’ve had the same best friend for an extremely long time, you'll recognize some of these signs.
1. TimeHop is essentially a diary of your friendship from middle school to the present day.
2. You can remember teachers in grammar school separating you to different tables because you both “caused too much of a distraction to the other students.”
3. The fetus pictures form the beginning of your friendship are far too embarrassing to make public, even for #TBT.
4. They’ve been your maid of honor before marriage was even on your mind.
5. They were friends with you through both your awkward and fat stages.
6. You have gone through life together and have been there for each other through all of the big milestones.
7. They have quite literally seen you at your worst.
8. Introducing your new significant other to your BFF is more stressful than introducing him or her to your family.
9. People from your past who wronged you fear your BFF.
10. And for a good reason, because you know he or she would do (and has done) anything for you. If you go to different schools and live in different places, seeing each other after a long period of time apart is as if no time has passed at all.
12. And if you live far away from each other, reunion day is practically the best day of the year.
13. He or she is constantly up to date in what’s going on in your life because a day without an extended conversation is just not possible.
14. You have so many inside jokes that most of the time you’re not speaking comprehensible English.
15. Some of your most cherished memories are just hanging out with your BFF doing nothing.
16. You have probably gotten into a fight over liking the same person at one point.
17. And you have both agreed that he or she was not worth ruining your friendship over.
18. But one of you probably dated him or her anyway.
19. Their family is practically your family.
20. Some of your most beloved summer vacations have been with your friend in tow.
21. If you have not already, you’re scheming ways to get them to marry into your family so you can see them all the time.
22. They’re not afraid to be completely frank with you about anything because they know you can handle it.
23. They’re also the first people to tell you when you’re being out of line, or just plain ridiculous.
24. They will always be up for a good old fashioned crazy idea.
25. They have at one time picked you up at midnight and drove with you aimlessly wasting the night away.
26. Your nicknames for each other make zero sense to anyone other than yourselves.
27. When people hang out with you, they complain about the two of you being “too exclusive.”
28. No one in your life is meaner to you in joking around, for your BFF knows all of your pressure points, and nothing is ever off the table.
29. Your BFF's happiness directly correlates to your happiness.
30. You can’t imagine your life without them, and can’t wait for all of the crazy adventures in the years to come.
