In a moment of stress in a busy house of six, I told my mom that being the oldest "was not something I would even wish upon my enemies." Well, of course, I was being a brat, but ever since then, I've got to thinking about one of the biggest blessings I have ever received; my beautiful siblings.
First off, let me start being reminding you, which I do not do enough, how much I love you!! There is no one in the world who has my heart the way that you do. With that being said, there are a few things you should know.
1. Saying I am proud of you would be a complete understatement. Everything you have done in your life, huge or minor, makes me beam with pride. If you ever feel as though you have no supporters, look no further than me. I am constantly rooting for you.
2. Learn from me. As you are more than well aware of, I have made an abundance of mistakes in my life thus far. I'd like to think that these mistakes were not made in complete vain. Learn from my mistakes so that they do not become your own. I'd hate to see you trip on the same rocks that I have. Please, please, take the time to learn and grow from my mistakes. You won't regret it.
3. I'm absolutely crazy when it comes to you. I am more than protective when anything involves you. The thought of anyone, a friend, a boyfriend/girlfriend or even a family member hurting you makes me cringe. I will do anything in my power to prevent you from any pain.
4.Because I can not always protect you, and it is inevitable that you will eventually hurt, please always remember that I am here for you. No matter what. I want to be the shoulder that you cry on. I cannot stress enough how important it is to talk about things, especially to me. Do not hide your emotions, especially your hurt. You should never feel like you have to be strong in front of me. Tell me what is wrong, and I promise, I will always give you an ear that listens. I care about you more than anyone and I want you to feel safe knowing I am always there for you.
5. Remember that you're my best friend. From birth, I received you as a built-in best friend. You are the person I want to talk to when something is not going right. And believe it or not, you are the person I want to spend my time with. You are truest and most real best friend there is. And plus, you couldn't really get rid of me even if you wanted to. You're my best friend for the rest of our lives.
When I count my blessings, you guys are the very first on the list. God knew I needed siblings like you to fill my life with joy and love.Thank you for everything that you do. I cannot tell you enough how much you mean to me. I love you forever and always, unconditionally.
