Should Stay at Home Mom's Receive a Paycheck?

Do you cook, clean, take care of your children, and find yourself multitasking everyday? If you answered yes, do you believe you should receive compensation? Preferably a paycheck? Lots of stay at home moms would agree with you. You do all of this hard work every single day and it just never ends. This is a job you are going to be in for the long haul for at least 18 years.

Now, I know if you are divorced you may be receiving child support payments but what if you could get a regular paycheck every week or month just for being a mom? That would be something that would interest any stay at home mom.

The big question is, should the government pay stay at home mom's?

A survey was taken on debates.org and the results were mixed. 53 percent said yes and 47 percent said no. Why could this be? On one end, getting paid and recognized for all of the hard work you do everyday would be amazing but some people think, why should I get paid for doing something I am going to do regardless.

One side to the yes argument would say that stay at home mom's should get paid because being at home all day with your children is a 24 hour job. When you have a regular full time job it is usually 40 hour weeks. The no argument might say the government should not be taking money from hardworking Americans just to pay women that could get a job if they wanted to because there are other people out there that are homeless or less unfortunate that cannot afford to stay home to take care of their children. Which side are you leaning more towards?

Well, since the government doesn't pay stay at home mom's and does not plan to any time soon or ever, there are some other things to consider if you are tight on money and would like to make some extra income while at home with the kiddies.

One option would be to search for online jobs. You can also take online surveys, you can start your own business on etsy, consider becoming a youtube mom and film your daily life and struggle with the world, win the lottery, or if your husband makes a decent salary you can always ask him for a paycheck.

I know mom's were probably looking for a "get money quick" thing but honestly, there is no such thing. If you want to earn money you have to invent you own way, be creative. There are good sides to this argument and based on your situation, whether you really need money or just want some extra spending cash there is only ONE option. Finding a job.

Jenny McCarthy even touched on this subject and this is what she had to say about a salary for stay at home mom's. "Let’s be honest, how many of us would continue to go to work day after day knowing we were not going to earn a paycheck? I know I wouldn’t."

Jenny makes a good point. Do any of you agree?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
