College is a world filled with stressful days, late nights, and an overabundance of work. There are some days where I feel like I am drowning in the many things I have yet to do for my classes. Despite this, it is important to stay calm and manage your time wisely. It’s an adjustment, but it is not impossible.
The first few weeks of college can be overwhelming with finding your classes and balancing your work. It is important to write out your schedule and plan out your days. Organization is a key element to success. It allows you to have a steady plan with no surprises. Obviously, some things just come up, but being organized allows you to rearrange your schedule without stressing too much.
When it comes to homework, always do it and hand it in on time. It may not seem important, but it is the basis of what your learning, and it allows you to delve deeper into the material. I strongly advise to set time aside every day so that you stay ahead rather than fall behind. With homework comes studying. Study hard. I mean it. There aren’t many grades for the semester, so you have to make the grades you get count.
Lastly, set time out for yourself. Do whatever you want. Go to the gym, watch Netflix, read a book, or take a nap. It’s important that you allow yourself time to recuperate from all the work you’ve been doing. Your mental health is important, so take it seriously.
Its only the start of my college career, and I am sure I will learn more along the way, but for now, I have to take it day by day and manage my stress through trial and error.
