I am constantly complaining about how busy I am. That was - until I heard about Shonda Rhimes and all the work she is doing.
Not only is she the reason all of my favorite TV shows even exist ("Grey's Anatomy," "Scandal" and "How To Get Away With Murder"), she also just recently wrote a book ("Year of Yes") and gave an amazing Ted Talk, all while raising three children at the same time. Talk about multitasking and efficient time management.
Before I keep going, let me have a little word with Shonda. Bare with me here, it won't take long.
Shonda, what on earth were you thinking when you killed Derek in Grey's Anatomy? Like really? You broke my heart with that episode, and I don't think I will ever forgive you for that. (No worries, we can still go out for dinner and have girl's nights; I can separate between pleasure and business).
Anyway, back to you guys, now.
I love her work; I loved her book, and I loved her Ted Talk. (I also love the fact she doesn't believe in marriage, but that's a topic for another article. Stay tuned.)
Thursday night is all about Shonda Rhimes. Million of people take time out of their busy schedules to watch Meredith Grey, Oliva Pope and Annalise Keating take on the world.
I don't know about you guys, but I feel like I am actually a part of the show. I have dance parties with Meredith and Cristina, I am constantly torn between Fitz and Jake, and I catch myself coming up with reasons why Annalise had to do what she did. Maybe I am slowly going crazy, or maybe Shonda Rhimes is simply a genius. (Let's hope for the sake of all of us, that it is the second one.)
Here are five things you probably didn't know about Shonda Rhimes.
1. She wrote the film, "Princess Diaries 2: A Royal Engagement"
2. She likes listening to music when she writes. (Just like me. Soulmates.)
3. She was in a championship marching band in high school.
4. She has a net worth of about $60 million. (Not surprising with all the things she does, but still $60 million? Holy Moly.)
5. Her best friend is (drum roll please) the real-life Cristina Yang (AKA Sandra Oh). They have been friends since both were 10 years old. Not surprising, who doesn't want to best friends with Cristina Yang.
