7 Reasons My Best Friend's The Pauly To My Vinny

Everyone has one friend that they turn to for anything and everything. I met my best friend at the end of a retreat my junior year. It sucks that we met at the end, literally the night it was over we were in bunk beds next to each other and hadn't talked before that but we instantly became friends. A year later we were reunited because we were chosen to go back to that retreat as a young team to help lead the retreat. Ever since our senior year, we've been best friends... we still talk every day. Unfortunately, she lives about 1,000 miles away from me. This is sad, but I like to think about all the great things about her!

1. She's caring

We talk almost every day and every time I'm having a bad day or just a struggle, she cares. She gives me all these different ways to help me solve my issue. She really listens to me when I need her and she's my favorite human.

2. She's real

A lot of times I find myself becoming friends with people who don't actually care about me or about anything really. But she's a real friend. Whenever anyone needs help or needs a friend to listen and have genuine conversations with, she's my go-to.

3. She supports me

We met on a religious retreat so often times I find it amazing how open we are about our faith. We experienced a life-changing event together TWICE! That is a lot to think about and I think it's genuinely incredible how she keeps me in check and helps me with my faith and I help her too.

4. She teaches me things every day

She has been through a lot this year. Being there for her through all the things she's had to go through has made me a better person and allowed me to be a good friend to not only her but to others around me. She's taught me the value of a good friend and she has also taught me that no matter what, there's always something to thank God for.

5. She motivates me

There are times when I'm on a diet or I don't want to go to the gym but she motivates me to keep going and to push myself to be a better person. She motivated me to get another job (which I should've motivated myself to do anyways) but it's always helpful to have someone to give you an extra boost of confidence.

6. She's hysterical

I'll be having a bad day and she'll send me a meme or something on Snapchat that just makes me laugh so hard. Even sometimes we'll be having a serious conversation and she'll crack a joke in there to lighten the mood and it just goes to show how similar we are. Neither of us can help but to crack jokes when we're nervous or just cause we're both funny.

7. She's the Pauly to my Vinny

Considering she's from Jersey, this reference is especially relevant. Pauly D and Vinny from the Jersey Shore have the best bromance ever and they just complete each other. The way Paula completes my life is the same that I complete hers. She is definitely the Pauly to my Vinny! Love her to death and cannot wait for our reunion next month!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
