What is "Shadow-banning? According to Urban Dictionary Shadow-ban is "Banning a user from a web forum in such a way that the banned user is unaware of the ban. Usually takes the form of showing that user's posts/profile/etc. only to that user; other users never see them".
I watched a video today from Project Veritas, this is the newsgroup that released the now infamous Amy Robach video of her talking about the Jeffrey Epstein case.
Project Veritas released a video on their Instagram showing an email from Twitter; telling them that their ad about recruiting new undercover journalist the Ad which was about 15 seconds; had not been approved, and they are banning them from all ads. Because of one tweet talking about shadowbanning.
This could be happening to so many people and they don't know it, and it's not just Twitter, Google it can be Instagram and Facebook and any other social media platforms.
This here is a new form of censorship, they are doing this to people who are posting of politics, and if they don't like it they will ban it. You will be able to see it on your account but others won't be able to, it's like you never Tweeted at all.
Twitter has now written Showbanning AKA Censorship into their terms stating "The platform will now intentionally "limit the visibility" of some users. Expect those who dissent from the official narrative to be the ones censored". These new terms go into effect in January 2020.
That got me thinking about some of the articles I have written, Such as the one I wrote on about how ABC killed the Jeffrey Epstein case. This article only got 13 views, now this could be that no one was interested in reading the article, Or that twitter and facebook did not like the content I wrote so no one seen the story.
Facebook has done this when it came to sites sharing hoaxes and misinformation, but instead of banning the whole page they just limited how many people seen the post. That I kind of understand because there have been so many death hoaxes about celebrities in the past few years.
You should not be shadowbanned just because what you post does not line up with their narrative and ideology. So why is social media doing this? this is all about power and holding all the cards, The video that project veritas was talking about, Senator Ted Cruz even quoted it in one of his speeches.
Even politicians have said that Twitter is shadow banning them because twitter doesn't like what they are tweeting and who they support.
So if you seeing a drop in your views on a video, or a simple post, you might be shadowbanned, keep an eye on your accounts and how many views you are getting, I know I will be.
