SGA Inaugurates 2015-2016 Officers

The University of Alabama Student Government Association inaugurated the new Senate, Judicial Board and Executive Council for the 2015-2016 school year.

SGA Inaugurates 2015-2016 Officers

Recently, the Student Government Association at University of Alabama celebrated 100 years on campus, and on Tuesday, March 31, the 103rd SGA administration was sworn into office.

Chief Justice Akeisha Young, the first to take the oath of office, swore in members of the Judicial Board, then senators and finally the Executive Council for 2015-2016 academic year. Shortly after each group took their oaths, Elliot Spillers gave his inaugural address, touching on the importance of teamwork and how the newly elected SGA officers would achieve this.

In 1914, the SGA was founded by J. Lister Hill, who would go on to serve as a U.S. senator for the state of Alabama. This year, our campus witnessed the inauguration of approximately 100 students into SGA positions.
