Sexting in the White House?

Apparently congressmen don't really understand that the government really does track everything you do...

I recently read an article on New York Daily News about the scandals released about former congressman, Anthony Weiner. Now, although he does have a funny last name, you would never expect it to actually become a pun. Too bad for him, it has. In recent events, Weiner, who resigned from office in June of 2011, has had multiple sexting scandals that have led to public and national embarrassment, a divorce, legal issues, and a lot of controversy.

First of all, let’s just talk about how much leniency he is being given after sexting and coercing a minor. How does that even make sense? People are going to federal prison for selling marijuana, yet Weiner literally sent inappropriate pictures to underage girls and has yet to even be proposed with jail time. It probably helps that he is a white male who has a governmental and political background. So basically, by American standards, he’s probably just a confused guy who didn’t know what he was doing wrong. At least those were some of the comments I read when I researched more into the article. I’m sorry; last time myself and the rest of the world checked, everybody knows old guys don’t sext young girls.

Honestly, people are dumb. How could this congressman with a higher education NOT know that he would get caught? Like you’re sexting a minor and you have a wife and kids. She is going to find out and she is going to divorce you. I almost forgot, he took a picture of him wearing minimal clothing in his bed with his son lying next to him.

I will be honest, I almost threw up while reading that. Honestly, how can one person be so stupid, disgusting, and a bad father and husband all in one. As a congressman when this all started, he gave himself and many other congressmen a sense of distrust, further leading to America’s desire to lose faith in the government.

I literally don't understand how it's an issue as to whether there should be legal repercussions or not. He had sent a picture of his boner to an underage girl. That's literally illegal. Don't you love white privilege. It's honestly insane that he can get away with things like this or do things like this. And i'm sure people are probably saying well his wife left him and he will lose custody of his kid. Like buddy, yeah. He should. The ignorance people have and the leniency citizens have in regards to elected officials breaking the law is ridiculous.

The government is not always as wholesome and honest as we'd like to think and there are a lot of loopholes in the system. But just because we vote for people like Anthony Weiner and then they turn out to be sex offenders, doesn't mean we should just stop voting. People like Anthony Weiner kind of suck and my last note on him is that I hope he is really embarrassed and I hope all of the other people involved/affected are doing well.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
