Anyone that says a soulmate has to be romantic must not have a clue. I may be biased, but I believe my twin sister is my soulmate. There is no one that understands, appreciates, or pisses me off more than my twin. I don't have to hide anything from her, and she knows me better than I know myself. My life would be a lot less bright without her.
The reasons your twin sister is without a doubt your soul mate are endless, but I thought I would share some of the big ones.
1. She understands your family problems
She has to understand them; she's affected by them too! Whether you're annoyed with your mother, confused by your father, or hurt by your brother, your twin sister will understand this frustration. She sees things on a deeper level than any friend or boyfriend ever could. She knows how these people are wired and how to deal with them. And no matter what, she's always on your side.
2. She can read your mind
It doesn't matter whether you're thinking about the cute guy next door, or you can't get some Taylor Swift song out of your head. Your twin sister just knows what is going on in your mind. She's most likely singing the same Swift song in her head! Some may call it "twin telepathy," but it's really just two halves of the same soul knowing what their other part is thinking.
3. You can tell her anything, even the hard stuff
Getting in a fight with your twin sister is bound to happen at least every day. Confronting people is an extremely nerve-wracking thing we must do to keep the relationships in our lives from eventually falling apart. Once you've blown off some of the steam from your latest brawl, it's time to confront your twin about how you're feeling. Talking about the problem with your sister is something that just comes naturally, because you know you can be completely honest with her and she's still going to love you. Nothing has to be held back, and no resentment remains afterward.
4. She respects your morals and values, even if they differ from hers
No two people are completely alike, even twins. You're bound to have opinions and ideas that completely contrast with some of your twin's ideas. Your sister will respect what you believe, and you will respect her beliefs as well. And no matter how many heated debates you have with her, she's still going to love and respect you no matter what.
5. You can be yourself around her
She loves how completely and undeniably weird you are. Why wouldn't she: she's just as strange as you are. From the conversations you wouldn't dare even attempt to explain to others, to the who-can-belch-louder contests, to the extremely off-key singing/screeching of your favorite songs? She's never going to judge the odd things, because she joins in them without even a second thought.
6. She understands better than anyone how tough being a twin can be
Whether you're fraternal or identical, you're going to be compared to your twin constantly. From who is smarter to who has nicer eyebrows, you've heard it all. It's easy to feel you're in competition with your twin, which makes feeling alone inevitable. But she understands how agitating it is to feel like you need to be "better" than someone, especially your own flesh and blood. No one can get that better than her. So instead of trying to one up each other, you ignore the comparisons thrown your way and appreciate your differences and similarities. You can be in this together!
7. You've grown with and because of her
You've been with your twin sister literally before you were even born. She was your first roommate, or as I like to say, wombmate. You've shared toys, cribs, drool, birthdays, everything. With every milestone you've reached, she's been there with you every step of the way. She's there to help you with problems, decisions, and consequences, and she doesn't doubt for a second that you are there for her too. She's your other half. And she's irreplaceable.
