All of the seasons are special in their own way. All of us have our favorite aspects of the seasons. Since fall is fast approaching, I decided to compile a list of some of my favorite things about fall. Do you like fall? What are some of your favorite things about the season?
1. Fall Leaves:
One of the greatest things about fall is that the leaves change color. Throughout the year leaves appear as boring and green, yet in the fall they become vibrant and unique. Fall transforms the dull green leaves into an alluring plethora of colors. Not only are the variegated leaves a site to behold, but they are also potential fun to be had. One of our great American past times is raking leaves for kids to jump in.
2. Big Sweaters:
Fall is the perfect time to pull out the big sweaters. They're comfy and warm, plus they can make you feel like a glorious marshmallow. You no longer have to worry about stomach flab. A big sweater gives a concrete excuse for all the excess fluff. Mainly they keep you warm and make you sleepy. It's a very content sort of feeling that only big sweaters can offer.
3. Pumpkin Spice Lattes:
Pumpkin Spice Latte's might just be the best part of fall. They're delicious but do not last long. We all know the feeling of excitement upon hearing the five little words... "Pumpkin Spice Lattes are back." The temptation returns and everyone basically empties their wallets during the short weeks that they're available. The return is sweet. The goodbye not so much. That's why this may just be one of the most anticipated things about fall.
4. No shave September... October, November, December....
The relief is strong. Summer is spent constantly shaving pesky leg hairs. It's horribly time consuming and immensely annoying. September brings chilly weather, as a result we no longer have to shave anything that isn't visible. Sweat pants and big puffy sweaters keep most of the jungle concealed. This trend continuous until summer time when the weed wackers have to come out.
5. Halloween:
Fall's prime time holiday might just be Halloween. Not only do you get to dress up in wicked cool costumes, but you also get candy for your efforts. Halloween is a holiday of candies and costumes galore. It's magically wonderful. Costumes range from Harry Potter to zombies, while candies range from Sweet Tarts to Reese's Cups. Everything is spooky or silly, and fun is had by all. Halloween is definitely a favorite among the millennial masses.
6. Thanksgiving:
The day of food and family is a delightful aspect of the holiday season. Thanksgiving means a nice lengthy break from school and time with the family. Luckily, most of these lovely family members are whizzes in the kitchen. Pumpkin pie, turkey, stuffing, and deviled eggs are all on the menu. You most likely return to college feeling like you were the turkey that got stuffed. Family members are lovingly irritating and the fond memories stick with you for the rest of the school year. Pumpkin pie can be a motivator for that next test this semester. Thanksgiving isn't far away.
7. Curling up on the couch reading a good book:
Fall can make anyone feel relaxed and cuddly. The crisp leaves and chilly air accompanied by a big fluffy sweater. It makes everyone feel warm and fuzzy inside. This content feeling calls for a blanket, a couch, and a good book. Reading is a great way to pass the time in this chilly weather. It's also relaxing. Being a college student might make it hard to leisurely read, but Thanksgiving break might give you a little spare time. If not, you can always amused yourself by reading a textbook the same way. Even better, drink a Pumpkin Spice Latte while reading your book.
