A Letter To Seniors

Many students, both in college and high school, are entering their last semester at the school they have known for the last three and half years. The lockers and hallways, the lecture halls and libraries, and all the people. All of your teachers and professors will soon become like storybook characters. It all will seem ever so bittersweet. It will all rush by too quickly and end before you know it. Here are some things to keep in mind to all the seniors out there, especially high schoolers.

1. Do not rush it. I know you "cannot wait to get out of this town and away from all the people." And you will be so utterly "over" anything and everything. Yes, you will have those extreme cases of senioritis, but enjoy every minute of it. Don't be too cool for anything. One day, you will miss some of it.

2. Do not take the small things for granted. The things such as living at home with your family or simply driving around with your friends. Especially enjoy the home cooked meals your parents prepare for you. You will miss those oh so very much in college.

3. Do not let "being tired" be an excuse. You are young; go live life and take on adventures. You are going to eventually miss the empty days you now have--so use them. Fill them with activities and stories. After sporting events, go to Steak 'n' Shake and stay there for hours with your besties. Don't rush home; find dumb things to do and laugh.

4. Be in the moment. Taking pictures is great, but be sure to make memories to go along with your continual photographs. If documenting your fun with photos is important to you that's wonderful; take a photo and put away your phone. Enjoy the company and places you experience. Your phone and media sites will still be there an hour later.

5. Do not fright. I understand the unknown can be terrifying. Deciding what university is the best for you and then second guessing yourself a time or two. Though it seems like the end of the world, you will make the choice that is best for you and it will be great. And if it doesn't work out, the next school will.

And for all the college seniors... God bless you. Good luck with all of your upcoming endeavors and I wish you the best. Enjoy your last semester living in the campus bubble and being reckless as you please. Even though it seems as soon as you graduate you must jump into adulthood, you don't. Well, you should probably attempt to find a job, but you can still enjoy your youthfulness.

Here's to you, seniors. In the words of Billy Ray Cyrus, "Get ready, get set, don't let go."

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
