Your senior year in college is not going to be what it was in high school. Besides the obvious fact that you're four years older and probably look different, you're a different person now. You're more "experienced" and hopefully smarter. Being a senior in high school and in college are both monumental stages in our lives. But being a senior in each one has a different meaning.

1. You want to leave because the real world vs you don't want to leave because of the real world.

Being a senior in high school means that you're less than a year away from moving onto to the huge spectacle of college and the freedom it entails. You're ready to move out and be on your own and start over. Being a senior in college means that you're less than a year away from the place you don't want to leave.

2. Freedom

College comes with the right amount of freedom to where your parents still support you but you still don't have to ask them to do anything. Being a senior in high school you're in a tricky place where you're 18, so you're legally an adult but you're parents still have a huge say over what you do.

3. Your Teachers

When you're a senior in high school, your teachers know who you are and are more than willing to help you find your way when it comes to choosing colleges and a major. They're more than excited to write a recommendation letter and it makes more sense to since they actually know your name and more than just a school id. Being a senior in college means that you're lucky if you're professor recognizes you from their class when you go to their office hours. They don't care if you come to class or not.

5. Future Plans

Being a senior in high school, you're applying to colleges and touring campuses. Being a senior in college means that you're applying to either grad school or looking for a job. Being a senior in high school, you think you're about to be on your own in a year but when you're a senior in college you're REALLY going to be on your own in a year.

6. School Nights and Going Out

The idea of a "school night" doesn't exist to a college senior. Meaning, that even though it's Monday, you can still go out. Being a senior in high school means that you may not be able to make plans because you have to be in school by 8am the next morning. The best part about being a college senior is that you and all your friends are 21. You get to have a night out is just hitting up the bars since you don't have to hide the fact that you drink underage at house parties like high school seniors have to.

7. Senioritis

Being a senior in high school you're bound to get senioritis so not studying for a test will be okay because you can probably make up for it with another test or extra credit or more assignments. Being a senior in college with senioritis is a condition you don't want to catch. Because you don't have the opportunity to be lazy with supplementals and capstone classes that determine if you graduate.

Both years will be the best years of your life with all the different kinds of experiences and circumstances set in. Take the best of it and have the most fun you can before it ends with graduation and sad goodbyes.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
