Second semester is right around the corner and I am feeling so many things; excitement, hope, nervousness just to list a few.

There are so many "what if's" and being in such a competitive environment, those "what if's" just won't suffice. We need confidence, boldness and eagerness. Eagerness to strive and leave the end of the year feeling better than ever. All of this sounds easy on paper, but we all know there are more feelings than just the good ones.

1. Unsettlement

Moving back into the dorm second semester feels like the first day of move in, except you know where everything is and you don't feel as clueless. But fear of the unknown can make unsettle a lot of people. The fear of finding new friends, trying new things, joining new clubs can make people scared.

2. Excitement

As scary as all those things listed above could be, there is always that curiosity and that rush of trying something out of your comfort zone. The excitement of all the new events going around campus is what I am looking forward to the most.

3. Sadness

Going back to school means leaving my family (my four-legged brothers too) and friends. It means leaving home cooked foods and my favorite restaurants. It means that I won't be a 10 min car ride from my friends house, and that is sad.

4. Happiness

On the contrary, leaving my friends at home means reuniting with my college friends!! We had such a hard time saying goodbye because we didn't know how we would manage not seeing each other for a month, but alas the time has come where we can rejoice in the presence of one another.

5. Motivated

New semester, new you right?! As teachers start to e-mail Syllabi out, I can't help but feel excited and more motivated than ever to go back. I got myself a planner and I already filled it out with my assignments. Motivated is an understatement. We've had enough time to relax, but now it's time to rise and grind.

With that being said, second semester is going to be tough, but we are tougher. Good luck and semester two bring it on!!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
