Now that things are getting busy with classes and sports, it's so easy to forget about yourself and really take a break from the chaos. The cold weather has started to sink in and there's a whole new batch of fall activities to go do. Don't forget to take a few minutes for yourself this autumn with a few suggestions down below!

1. Make time for yourself!

Fall is when school and classes are getting back into full swing, and it's easy to forget to make time for yourself. Give yourself even just a half hour to do something you love, even if it's just going for a walk or reading a chapter in a book.

2. Spend time with people you loveĀ

Spend as much time as you can with friends and family.

3. Try out a new hobby

4. Drink spiced cider.

Or mulled cider, or just fresh cider. You can't go wrong with any of them.

5. Bake with apples!

Make apple crisp or apple muffins, both are delicious.

6. Slow down and savor the momentĀ

It's all too easy to get caught up in everything that's going on in life, and it's easy to forget to just slow down and take a look around.

7. Enjoy warm pj's and socksĀ

Everyone loves fuzzy socks, you can't even argue.

8. Make a soup or stewĀ

When the weather is cold, nothing warms you up like a hot cup of soup.

9. Go to a Farmer's MarketĀ

Support local! You can buy fresh produce for usually a cheaper price, plus it's a perfect excuse to take your next insta-photo.

10. Decorate pumpkins or make pumpkin bread

Who doesn't love carving or painting pumpkins? If baking isn't your thing, Starbucks has a pumpkin roll to die for!!

11. Write down what you want to let go ofĀ

Now that the leaves are letting go of their trees, it's a sign for you to let go of whatever it is that's dragging you down.

12. Go on a nature walk or hike

Explore your local community and find a gorge to stroll through and take beautiful photos of the changing leaves. Or even just take a walk down Main Street and grab a coffee.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ā€˜wildest dreamsā€™. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, Iā€™m still in awe of the spectacle ā€˜Miss Americanaā€™ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylorā€™s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichƩs, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And donā€™t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Donā€™t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and youā€™re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. Youā€™re running late because youā€™ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterdayā€™s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
