October 1st was a beautiful day for Selena's family, friends, and devoted fans. Mac, the prestigious makeup line, made their Selena Makeup Collection available online. The collection included pigmented lipsticks, eyeshadows, and eyeliners and the line even showcased some brushes with Selena's own signature adorning the handles. Selena represented the idea that talent comes from people with any type of background or culture. All it takes is a big dream and an ambitious heart. Selena embodied hope, love, kindness, and success. She is the definition of a role model, and Mac hit it out of the park with this makeup line.
Selena was a warm-hearted, talented singer from Texas. She represented her Latin culture in the best way, through art. Growing up, my family would watch the movie about her life, making us cry hard together and inspiring us to dream bigger. Her legacy would live on through that television screen, and after every viewing, my family would blare the best Selena songs (AKA all of them) for a good week every time we rode in the car. Her music gave us chills, her background gave us hope, and her death gave us tears.
What better way to honor such an artistic wonder who was such a beautiful icon than to create a makeup line that embodies her in every way? Mac collaborated with Selena's family to create makeup that best represented her talent. With each product named after her songs and each shade created to perfection, I truly believe Selena would be proud. She lives on through her music, her story, and now her makeup line.
The collection sold out immediately online, and just recently hit the stores. Getting your hands on these products is definitely tricky, but if you are lucky enough to purchase an item from the Selena line, you will not regret it.
