Except for the rare exception of about 10 days of the school year that the weather is perfect, any other time it is one extreme or the other. You're either battling a Hurricane or dying from a heat stroke. Mostly because I go to college in Tennessee and weather here is so unpredictable, but on any college campus weather can be a struggle. College is already a struggle so when you throw in the weather the struggle bus is really hitting some major speed bumps.
Weather #1: Flash Flooding Campus
When you need a boat to make it to your 8 a.m. class you are struggling. You are experiencing very cold chills and happiness when you reach the classroom finally! The mood for a rainy day is gloomy and you become very lazy. You are a college student and you just don't care so you walk straight through puddles without a care in the world.
Weather #2: Desert Campus
Usually around the very beginning of the fall semester. The sun is blazing and you just want to run through some sprinklers or be at home by the pool. You get to class and you're sweating profusely and gasping for breath. You just want to be back in your room with the thermostat set to -75 degrees.
Weather #3: Windy Campus
On the desert campus, it might be a great thing to have a cool breeze blowing in, but in the winter when you can't get away from the wind blowing in your face it's not cool. The wind is blowing so hard and it's so cold your eyes are probably getting a little teary. You would rather just drop into the fetal position than to keep going.
Weather #4: Snowy Dayz Campus
When the snow starts to fall the students start to wait for that email that school is closed to hit. It is because my college is in Tennessee and we are not used to any amount of snow. Whether it be a 1/2 and inch of 3 feet we flip out. Walking on sidewalks and parking lots on a campus is a really big struggle.
Weather #5: All Four Seasons In One Day Campus
Everyone knows this type of day, you wake up to arctic temperatures and go to class, you walk out of class an hour later and the floodgates of heaven have opened and it's flash flooding, then you go to eat lunch and grab a nap, you go outside to realize that it's sunny and 95 degrees. You know the type of weather I'm talking about.
Weather #6: Dark Ages Campus
This day is the rarest of all, but it does happen. This is the day when the campus loses power and you are left feeling super primitive like you have nothing to live for. There is always the severe weather drill that you have to deal with on this day. You are feeling if the storm wants to take me, let it happen so I can get out of my midterms.
That's All Folks!
