While it's not the most popular TV show, "Scrubs" is one of my favorites. It's unbelievably funny and although it is extremely goofy, enough so that sometimes I thought it might be meant for children, there's a lot to be learned from this show.
9. A good friend can carry you through anything. Of all the different kinds of relationships, the bond between friends is most often taken for granted. A good friend can inspire you to do your best and can encourage you to pursue things you never thought possible. Throughout the show JD and Turk constantly uplift one another. JD and Turk's relationship is something everyone should strive for.
8. Relationships change and that's okay. People are constantly changing, so that means relationships are too. Change isn't always bad. Look at Carla and Turk. They go through all kinds of rough patches (e.g., when they had problems talking to one another, after JD moved out, and when Carla went through postpartum depression) and yet, they still manage to work through it. The dynamic of a relationship can shift but so long as the love remains the same, you'll be okay.
7. You have to look for the humor in life. Life would be pretty boring if you didn't get to laugh at least once every day.
6. You can't give up. "Nothing worth having comes easy." (This quote comes from Dr. Bob Kelso, my favorite person ever. To be honest, that has nothing to do with the actual quote itself; I just thought everyone should know I love him.)
5. Sometimes the simple answer is the right one. There's not always going to be some long, drawn-out solution to every problem. You have to look at the surface before you decide to dig deeper.
4. You can't make everyone happy. Stop trying to be a people pleaser. No matter what you do, someone will always be be upset about it. You have to focus on what you think is right because if you try to make everyone happy, you could end up sabotaging yourself.
3. Let go of the little things. As you'll see when you watch the show, life is short. You shouldn't be focusing too much on the details when the more important thing is the big picture.
2. Growing up doesn't mean you don't get to be a kid sometimes too. JD and Turk are always playing games and generally just being giant goofballs, and they work at a hospital, which is obviously a serious environment.
1. There's absolutely nothing wrong with being a dreamer. Although my opinion may be slightly biased, due to my immense crush on Zach Braff, "Scrubs" offers insightful and super useful life tips. Also, it's just filled with really dumb jokes and cheesy dance numbers, which makes it one of the best shows I've ever watched.
