As a soon to be college graduate, I feel tons of pressure. Where will I live? Where will I work? Will I even have a job? Will my parents be proud of me? Will I be happy? I can keep going. It can be overwhelming. Sometimes, I just need a reminder that everything will be okay. There are points in life where you can not do it all on your own. It gives me a sense of peace when I remember that God does have a plan for me and He is there through all the worried thoughts, anxious days, and overwhelming nights. I have found that words of reassurance have always made me feel better. I am a firm believer that you need to love life for it to love you back. I could tell you an endless list of scriptures that have been helpful to me in the past, but I consolidated the list down to my top ten scriptures for those overwhelming moments.
1. Matthew 6:34.
"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
2. Matthew 6:25.
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?"
3. Psalm 28:7.
"The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him."
4. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10.
"But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
5. Psalm 37:5.
"Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will act."
6. Philippians 4:12.
"I know both how to have a little, and I know how to have a lot. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being content—whether well fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need."
7. Psalm 142:3.
"Although my spirit is weak within me, You know my way."
8. 2 Timothy 1:7.
"For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline."
9. Proverbs 17:22.
"A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones."
10. Proverbs 3:5-6.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."
