'Scarlet' Book Review: Red Riding Hood Meets Cyborgs

I have to say that this is now my favorite book in the series. I read the first one and honestly didn't think that it was that great, which is why I never understood why people were always raving about it. Then, I read this book and it just changed everything. I mean there was so much action and I always wanted to know what was going to happen with Scarlet and Cinder next.

It took me a little longer than I wanted to read through the whole book just because I had school and work. But, when I was able to read, I couldn't put the book down. I mean I must have read in all the spare time that I had in order to finish this book. I don't think that I've come across a book in a long time that I really wanted to read. I mean it's pretty obvious that I'm putting off the other four books I'm reading, and this has been the only one I've been able to finish. I think that I was just in a reading slump, and this book was able to take me out of that.

For those who don't know what the book is about, it's about a girl named Scarlet who is all worried about her grandmother because she has been missing for about two weeks, and I mean who wouldn't be worried? She tried to contact the police, but they said there was nothing more that they could do, because of course the police always can't do more. But we also have the story of what's happening with Cinder since the last book where we left her off. And then from there the two stories start to come tougher, and they actually worked very nicely with each other.

I think that while I've loved Cinder, Scarlet has been my favorite character so far. I think that I just enjoyed this book so much more because it was told more from her point of view. I thought that it might get a little hard for her to keep the two stories straight because I mean there was a lot going on in that book, but it was very good. It didn't get confusing at all. I also loved the fact that there was another romance between Scarlet and Wolf. I mean I pretty much figured from the start that something was going to happen there. I mean you don't just go on a trip together in a teen book and not fall in love. So, I knew from the start that would happen.

I can't wait to get my hands on the next book because I'm sure that it will be even better. I mean I loved that there was action at pretty much every part of the story. There wasn't really a dull moment in the story because there was so much that happened.

I would recommend that book to anyone who like the dystopian-type books because this one will be perfect for you. I know that I love those kinds of books, and this one was probably one of the best from that genre.

So overall I would give this book a five out of five stars, I was that amazed!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
