Savannah’s Benedictine Military School football team is known for their enthusiastic alumni base, supportive fans, and winning football program. This was evident in BC's recent State Semifinals game, where they swept Callaway 49-10 to head to the Class AA GHSA State Championship.

The BC team looks forward to a rematch against Fitzgerald, the team who defeated them in the semifinals last year in a 54-28 game. Excited for the upcoming State Championship game, the boys remain humble, recognizing the commitment from their fans, families, and team.

"The BC fan base is unlike any other in the state of Georgia. Graduates and families always come to support and it means a lot to be a part of something so special," said senior Philip Moore, team safety and captain. "We see the fans cheering for us with such pride, passion, and enthusiasm, and it motivates us to play just that way," senior fullback Cooper Marini said.

The Cadet Crazies, lead by Matthew Hogan, Matthew Whelan, and Drew Tison, are a staple of BC athletics and are accompanied by millions of fans to help electrify the team. ”BC is more than just a school, it is a brotherhood where tradition and faith are embedded into every Cadet. We stand up as one big team to cheer on our brothers on the field!,” Cadet Crazies leader Whelan said.

"The BC community means a lot to us coaches and to the boys. We try and make them proud each and every game," head coach Danny Britt said.

Not only does the community heavily impact the team, but the players testified to the coaches' impact on them, as well. “Coach Britt has built an incredible program, an honor to be apart of, and I believe we have the best alumni support of any school around,” said senior outside linebacker Matthew Lowenthal. "The coaches helped me become a better man and player," middle linebacker and captain Chris Harris said.

As the Benedictine players reflect on their football season and careers, BC's senior center, Mills Thompson, acknowledged the tradition of the Benedictine Military family. “I remember being a little kid and looking up to the players... and now I am that guy," Thompson said. "Soon I’ll be one of the thousands that come back and support the BC team; the BC community truly is like a family to me."

This upcoming week, the Benedictine Football team will be preparing to tackle Fitzgerald in the Football Class AA GHSA State Championship. The team continually pursues "perfection," as senior defensive end Noah Johnson said. Benedictine's A back and captain, Wesley Kennedy, spoke for the team's attitude heading into the State Finals, saying, "We are humble, average size, and fast, and we like to get after it."

The Benedictine Military School's focus on tradition and hard work has played an evident role in each of the boys' lives. "I will never forget the brotherhood I’ve shared with my teammates and the many lessons I’ve learned from my coaches,” Moore said.

Coach Britt grinned nostalgically when commenting on the team’s past season and the seniors' past careers as Cadets. “They have succeeded in making the BC community proud," Britt said. "Let’s finish strong- they’ll remember it for the rest of their lives.” Harris passionately talks of his brotherly football team, saying, "It was one heck of a year, and I really love every last one of them. Let's make more History!"

Savannah is buzzing with excitement, while BC alumni and fans from all over are already booking hotels. Benedictine Military School will definitely not face Fitzgerald alone in the state championship; they will face them with an army of brothers and sisters behind them.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
