Saturdays Are For The Girls

Saturdays Are For The Girls
Willow Moulton

I think a lot of us have heard a common phrase that a lot of guys use which is “Saturdays are for the boys.” That is perfectly fine, we want to see guys having their friends' backs and hanging out. With that being said, two can play that game. If Saturdays are for the boys, it is about time girls start having Saturday shenanigans with each other.

Imagine a world where girls were not always focused on trying to impress guys or get on their level. Pretty wild, because sadly it is not something we see that often. Everyone is stressed about their appearance and seeing if they will meet a cute guy at a party or something. I think it would be nice to put some of those worries aside. It may not be every day that we forget these things, but they are not worth constantly worrying about.

My goal is to start doing more things with “my girls”. Whether it just be doing homework together with some of them, eating a meal, or going out for a ride around campus. Most of all, I want my girls to know I have their backs. I am very lucky to say I know they have mine as well. I also hope every girl has a few girl friends that they can fall back on when something goes wrong. We know who to sass to no end to get the job done. We can save each other from risky situations and even make a few bad jokes just to try to see someone smile again.

I love seeing girls look out for each other, and it is definitely something I would like to see more of as well. It is nice to have that network of people to help you out and fight for you. Guys think they are the best, but I don’t know. Girls know where it is at. Saturday’s are for the ladies, we do not always need guys to have fun! *Hair flip*

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
