13 Times 'Saturday Night Live' Described Class Registration

Sometimes in college it seems like every little thing you do has a way to be stressful. Class registration is no exception: organizing schedules, checking classes, signing up for times... it can be a nightmare. To lighten it up a little, here's just a few times that "Saturday Night Live" has felt all of our pain. Without further ado...

1. When you meet with your advisor to talk about your schedule for next semester

Didn't I just talk to you? It isn't really time to do this all over again, is it? I don't believe you.

2. When you start looking at the classes you have to take

Why are there so many? Writing out your classes for the remainder of your college career is an even worse idea. Help me.

3. When you try to plan out the times for your classes

You'd think from all the effort and cross-checking that I'm doing that I'd be decoding an ancient language, but really I'm just trying to see if I have enough time to get from one building to another in 15 minutes without hating myself.

4. When you look up your potential professors' ratings

Somebody make this end. Sometimes there are four different professors for the same time and looking each of them up gives you a full picture of who to register for. But it's so tedious...

5. When you find out you're going to have a class with a friend

It's always nice knowing that you'll have someone to talk to about the class and be able to share notes with. Solid plus.

6. When you get your registration time

Why is it so late? Is everyone else just smarter than me or something? Going through the day watching the registration website like a hawk is not my idea of fun.

7. When you see that the classes you want/need are filling up

DON'T. YOU. DARE. Listen, buddy, four years is the goal, and I'm not going to be held back by one stupid class.

8. When you realize that you're going to have to take a class with that professor no one likes

For the sake of graduating on time, I will do this. Maybe 26 student reviewers were wrong...

9. When it's the day of registration

Feeling nervous the whole day of registration is totally normal and also completely mortifying.

10. When you see that a class you need is full 15 minutes before you register

You have to be kidding me! All that planning and researching professors and stressing over whether I got it right, and now you tell me I have to rework everything?? No, I'm FINE!

11. When you finally register for classes

It's over, it's done, I can actually sleep tonight. Praise.

12. When you look at your final schedule and notice how weird your next semester is going to be

Wait, I'm going to have class until 6:30 p.m. on Mondays, and on Thursday's I don't start classes until 2 p.m. Remind me why I did this again?

13. When you remember that you can drop and add classes later

Thank goodness for drop/add. It's saved many a college kid's sanity and has helped people take the classes they need. Even if registration goes sideways, you can try your luck with the drop/add period.

To my fellow college kids out there, good luck registering for classes! Here's to hoping you get the classes that you need and the times that you want. I believe in you!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
