7 Must-See Attractions for Your San Diego Vacation

San Diego is a beautiful city with wonderful weather year-round and a myriad of attractions for people of all ages and interests, so it doesn't come as a shock that many people love to vacation here. So whether you're looking to visit "America's Finest City" or you're a local looking to explore the wonderful city, here are a few can't-miss attractions you should make sure to see while you're here!

1. Balboa Park

Balboa Park boasts beautiful architecture and many of San Diego's best attractions, including museums, gardens, and restaurants. Not to mention, it's a great place to explore and have a totally Instagram-worthy photo shoot.

2. The San Diego Zoo

World-famous and rightfully so, the San Diego Zoo is huge and newly renovated. It's home to a bunch of super cool animals and you can even take a sky ride across the park and get a beautiful view of Balboa Park and downtown San Diego.

3. Old Town

Old Town is home to cute shops and authentic Mexican restaurants, as well as San Diego's most haunted location, the Whaley House. So if you're ever interested in dinner and a ghost tour, Old Town is the perfect spot.

4. Mission Beach

Not only is Mission Beach a great place to hold a beach bonfire, but it's also home to Belmont Park, a small but super cute boardwalk/amusement park. You can take a spin on their roller coaster by day and host a cozy bonfire in one of the fire pits once the sun goes down.

5. SeaWorld

Since the release of Blackfish, SeaWorld has been given a really bad rap. However, not only does SeaWorld play a huge part in sea life protection and conservation efforts, their theme park has so much more than just killer whales. They have attractions that appeal to people of all ages.

6. Coronado

Coronado is technically a different city than San Diego, but it's just a quick trip over the Coronado bridge and you're there. Coronado has beautiful beaches and is home to the reportedly haunted Hotel del Coronado.

7. Petco Park

While the San Diego Padre's aren't the most competitive team, any baseball fan will have a good time at Petco Park. Additionally, the park's food selection is pretty good (if a little overpriced).

So whether you're a San Diego native or a tourist, San Diego is an awesomely beautiful place to explore! Just do me a favor and stay classy while you're here.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
