Ever heard of the saying, there’s no place like home? No matter how long I’ve been in LA, San Diego will always have a special place in my heart. From its beautiful beaches, amazing shopping centers, to delicious food, San Diego is a place you do not want to miss. If you ever find yourself in the beautiful sunny San Diego, here are the top five places you need to head to.
1. Coronado Beach.
Everyone loves a relaxing day at the beach right? Ranked as the best beach in 2012, this one is a definite must. Aside from the beach, there is also a historic beachfront hotel, Hotel del Coronado. So if you’re not really feeling the beachy vibe, just head on over to the hotel.
2. Seaport Village.
One of my most favorite places. They have a wonderful waterfront, shopping and dining experience just right next to downtown. Seaport Village has a ton of restaurants, small shops and galleries to visit. Aside from these cute shops, you can also stroll along and enjoy the beautiful view the Victorian style architecture buildings have to offer.
3. Del Mar Fair.
One of the biggest events in San Diego during the summer, this fair is something you simply cannot miss. From its delicious odd food to the wild experience from the rides, Del Mar Fair is a must. Oh, did I mention the concerts?
4. Up2You Cafe.

If you have a sweet tooth and just can’t get enough of desserts, then this is definitely the place for you. From honey toast to waffles to crepes and you name it, it is entirely up to you what you want on your dessert. I can’t even begin to describe how good the desserts are here, you just have to try it out for yourself. Of course, I can’t forget their yummy shakes and iced tea. (This should really be your first stop when visiting San Diego.)
5. Fashion Valley Mall

There really isn’t a place that can ever replace my hometown. No matter how many times I’ve visited these five places, they always have a special place in my heart. Los Angeles is great and all, I mean the food is good, which is always a plus. But no matter how great Los Angeles is, let’s face it, it’s just not home.
