Why I love to run

Running: Personal Experience
Running Fuel

I have been running a since I was a kid. Whether it was running to or away from something, there was always a thrill to go as fast as I could. It could be a terrible day with weather being an issue with a chance of hurricane/tornado coming- I will still go outside and run. Running helps me find a center within myself. It is an indicator when something in my life that I don't notice is off and I need to pay attention to it. Other than being a version of a sixth sense, running has changed my life and helped me grow as a person. That may sound generic on paper, but it's true. As a kid, I saw the world differently and for some reason the other kids thought it was fun to bully me for it. I had a tough time making friends, but what got me to interact with others was playing outside.

Playing games was one of the only time I was just like everyone else. Soon it became apparent that I was fast and would be picked to play. As time progressed, I fell in love with running and began to join teams and train every day to go faster or further. I am not even that fast considered to other division I, II, and III schools, but to me it wasn't about winning the gold, breaking the record, or even standing on top of the podium. I love running because it makes me a better and happier person. It may be the endorphins talking, but I know what I feel is genuine. Running opens up an opportunity to be a part of community. Which is good because we are all a bunch of psychos when it comes to some of the things we put ourselves through daily. If running can make me this happy then it can make others just as much.

Strengths from running include a healthy heart and body. Even a healthy soul can be a benefit and that help clear a person's mind when it is cluttered. It is exciting to interact with others in this running family, as everyone understands what it takes to do the things we do and even be crazy enough to do them. The best part is that anyone can be called a runner no matter the age, distance, or speed.

As wonderful as running is, there needs to caution. The world maybe a wonderful place to explore with all sorts of roads and trails, it sometimes is not friendly. Running safety and keeping a good health is important in order to continue doing something we all love. Buy new shoes after a certain mileage, drink water, and tell someone where you are going. These are just a few tips that a runner should know or learn to make a habit. Running can be risky if small things are ignored like not looking where you are going so paying attention to these things can bring to you a solid run that is enjoyable.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
