Ever since Netflix's original "Orange Is The New Black" premiered it's third season this summer, actress and model Ruby Rose has become globally viral for her undeniable and irresistible beauty. Starting off by being only famous in Australia as an MTV host and personality, she quickly gained worldwide fame after her debut on the hit show.
However, Ruby isn't just the hottest celebrity of 2015. She is also something many people haven't heard of before – gender fluid. According to Ruby Rose during an interview with Elle Magazine, "gender fluidity is is not really feeling like you're at one end of the spectrum or the other," she explains. "For the most part, I definitely don't identify as any gender. I'm not a guy; I don't really feel like a woman, but obviously I was born one. So I'm somewhere in the middle – in my perfect imagination – is like having the best of both sexes. I have a lot of characteristics that would normally be present in a guy and then less that would be present in a woman. But sometimes I'll put on a skirt – like today."
This comes just shortly after Caitlyn Jenner debuted her new look after coming out to the world as transgender, which is when a person's biological sex doesn't match up with their self-identity. Gender fluidity, transgenderism, and many other sexualities/gender identifications are uncommon and almost unheard of in today's society. However, with the Supreme Court passing gay marriage rights to the entire country and more and more people feeling comfortable with coming out, these concepts will become more accepted throughout future generations.

It's time to accept that sexualities (other than heterosexuality) and gender identifications (other than male and female) are not just phases. Think of it like this – if you're straight, you never woke up one day and decided to be into the opposite sex. It's something you were born with and most likely didn't pay that much attention to, since society has always deemed it totally normal to be heterosexual. If you identity as a female and you were born biologically as a female, that's how you feel as a person and you can't just switch that on or off. Similarly, if a biological male identifies as female, that's not something they can control either.
Ruby Rose has not only shown us that girls with short hair and baggy clothes can be sexy as hell; she has also proven that differing gender identification and sexuality are just as "normal" and "acceptable" as being straight and identifying with your biological gender.

This year, we've made more societal progress than ever before. It's about time to stop discriminating against traits that people cannot control or help having. It's time to teach the future generation to not even think twice about a person being gay, black, bisexual, asexual, Muslim, disabled, lesbian, male transgender, gender fluid, etc.
