We have finally reached the home stretch of the semester. Spring break is long gone and summer is officially in sight. With the weather getting warmer and day parties becoming more and more enticing, motivation has gone out the window. The realization that freedom from school work is still a month away is unbearable.
But let's try to think positively in these final weeks. There may be a month left of school work, but there's also a month left to hang out with your best friends too.
In order to properly describe this season of emotional ups and downs, let's compare it to something that is also now in season — baseball.
1. When you realize your group project is no where near completion... Oh wait, your group has not started the project at all.
Yay for teamwork?
2. When you are in the midst of a mental breakdown over the creation of a formal cooler when you realize that it is just a cooler.
3. When you find the perfect outfit to wear out on a sunny, day-drinking Saturday afternoon.
This is a major victory
4. When you did not get into the classes that you wanted for next semester.
5. When you barely just finish your final draft of your forever-long research paper on time.
That was a nail biter.
6. When you land THAT Summer internship.
ALL OF MY HARD WORK HAS LED UP TO THIS.
7. When you start savoring every bite of your favorite Oxford foods because you know it is going to be a long three months without them.
How am I supposed to survive my nights without Will's, Bruno's or Fiesta Chara's Queso?
8. When you avoid your formal date on campus because the night ended up getting quite awkward.
Please don't see me, please don't see me...
9. When you tear up the dance floors at Brick Street, because why not? You're not going to see these people or have a 90's night again until August. By that time everyone will have forgotten about all of your ridiculous moves anyway.
10. When you realize that you have to part ways with your best friends for a little bit once the spring semester ends.
11. When you feel like you are never going to get through finals.
12. When you fail to get your damage deposit back.
It was all in good fun?
13. When you realize you have survived another crazy, hard, but incredibly awesome, year of your life at Miami.
Despite the stress that comes with the final weeks of school, let us remember that our time here is limited and we should enjoy every second of it.
