It’s no longer the weekend, and you are struggling to even make it to your 11 am., but you somehow do, and you execute beautifully. It’s now ten hours in the future, and the dreadful day full of class, homework, and a responsibility is finally about to come to an end. Sure, bed sounds nice, but you’re also cool with pushing off bed and Netflix for just a little bit longer.
You get home and dramatically swing open the front door only to see your beautiful roommates welcoming you home with a couple bottles of wine. Red, white, rosé… doesn’t matter, you don’t discriminate.
The importance of wine night with the girlies is significant not only for the magical taste of this blessed beverage, but also for the times when you postpone and procrastinate for just one more night while you cherish and catch up with your best pals, and talk about some highs and lows of the days, weekends and weeks.
Wine night is a multipurpose solution for all types of people. Sometime it’s not even a night activity, wine day is cool too. Sometimes when you get home and dramatically swing the door open, your roommates aren’t there waiting for you, it’s just the solo bottle of wine waiting for you all by itself (and by the way, if you have a pet, you’re not drinking alone, so no need to feel guilty). Wine night sometimes is a time just to cuddle up with a full glass, a blanket, a movie and some wonderfully scented candles romantically lighting up the room.
The inspiration to write about this beautiful ritual comes from not just a love for wine, but also from the cringing encounter I came to with my TV last night that we call the third presidential debate. Before, during, and after the debate just screams, “Pass me that bottle.” God bless America.
So, to all of you who appreciate the sweet, sweet taste that wine gives you, and the comfortable evening that the experience brings you—cheers to you, and I wish you the best of wine nights from here on out.
