12 Things That Happen When Your Roommate Is Your Best Friend

You’re a lucky one if you have a great roommate to share a house or room with. You’re a lucky one if you can find a best friend that really gets you and understands who you are. But you’re one of the luckiest if you can find both of these in one person!

1. Your schedules start to sync.

You get up at the same time, and you go to bed at the same time. You never planned it that way, but it happened. And maybe it wasn’t that way at first, but for some reason it happened.

2. You can’t remember whose stuff is whose.

The plates, the spoons, the cups, it doesn’t matter. You literally can’t remember whose stuff was originally whose. It’s now "ours."

3. People confuse you two all the time.

Your name is now hers and vice versa. People call you her name as much as they call you yours, and the same thing for her. It might have bothered you at first, but now you don't mind. How cool is it to be two people at once?

4. You’ve literally seen each other at your worst, and still love each other anyway.

When you first wake up, when you’re sick, when you accidentally drank to much last night; they’ve seen it all, and love you anyway! How lucky are you?

5. You can’t remember whose mannerisms are whose.

Was she the first person who came up with that saying, or was it you? Who knows? It's become part of you both for so long you can’t remember.

6. They’re the first person you want to tell about your day, and they’re usually the first person to hear it.

When you head home after a long day, they’re there and you can share stories. Who else would care that you saw a flower on the side of the road today?

7. Their opinion is one of the most important. You probably ask them everyday if your outfit looks okay.

You’d never leave the room or the house without checking to see what they think of your outfit. You’d also never buy anything without checking their opinion first. I mean, they can’t have you leave looking like a fool, can they?

8. You share shows together.

Whether she introduces them to you or you introduce a show to her, you both have a show that you can’t watch without each other there. I bet you’re thinking of a specific one right now!

9. They hear all your rants.

Every little thing that bothers them, you hear about. Every little thing that bothers you, they hear about. And they get upset at your stuff, and you get upset about theirs. I mean, how dare that butterfly land on you!?!

10. Your closet is her closet, and vice versa.

Whether you need a dress for a date or you can’t find the right earrings for your interview, they’ve got something you can borrow. And that cute new top they bought? You’re totally borrowing that next week.

11. They know exactly where everything is in your stuff.

Forget your favorite watch or your lucky pen? No problem, they'll grab it for you. And you don’t even need to tell us where it is! We already know.

12. You share everything with them.

They know your secrets, your happiest moments, your saddest moments, and your most embarrassing moments. They know everything about you, and you know everything about them. Her big life moments are yours as well.

They love you for who you are and how awesome you both are together. You can’t imagine your life (or room) without them, and you wouldn’t want to.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
