"Some books you read. Some books you enjoy. But some books just swallow you up, heart and soul." - Joanne Harris

For nine years, I attended a private Catholic school that primarily focused on the importance of reading. I can remember being required to read multiple books and having to take AR (Accelerated Reader) quizzes that counted for a grade. I always thought of it as a chore because I struggled finding books that I enjoyed. It wasn't until 6th grade when my teacher gave me the book, The Amaranth Enchantment by Julie Berry that everything changed.

Never in my life had I ever fallen in love with a story that captivated me right from the start. I found myself putting aside my homework because I wanted to know how the fairytale ended. The next day, I headed straight to the library and picked up the book, A Kiss in Time by Alex Finn hoping it would help feed my new addiction for romance novels.

I can't express how many romance books I own because it's ridiculous. But there are only a few authors that have really made an impression. I've picked out three books by my favorite authors that are absolutely astounding. I definitely recommend giving them a try because you won't be disappointed.

1. Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful series) by Jamie McGuire

Warning. Beautiful Disaster is a major tear-jerker. I cried an extreme amount of times throughout this book. Literally, my heart ached for the characters. I wasn't sure if there was going to be a "happy ever after" moment.

Beautiful Disaster is about a girl trying to keep her dark past a secret. It goes awry when she arrives at Eastern University and meets the most charming guy on campus that happens to participate in a fight ring. The intense attraction leads them to make a bet that forces them to face the possibility of forever.

If you like Beautiful Disaster, I would highly suggest reading the Maddox Brothers series.

2. Breathe (Sea Breeze series) by Abbi Glines

Abbi Glines is hands down my favorite author EVER. She has inspired me to pursue a career in writing. I admire her hard work and dedication. She recently had a baby, but continues to find the time to write more stories and have them published quickly. Her books are utterly amazing.

Breathe follows the story of a young girl named Sadie that gets a job as a servant for Jax, a famous teen rocker . The last thing on her mind is a relationship due to her commitment to provide for her lazy mom. Too bad Sadie is already on Jax's radar because he doesn't give up easily.

If you want a book that will suck you in right from the start, Abbi Glines is your girl. Go check out http://www.abbiglines.com/

P.S. This isn't even the best book in the series, she never ceases to raise the bar.

3. Rock Candy Kisses (3:AM Kisses series) by Addison Moore

I think the reason I love this book so much is because it surprised me. I wasn't expecting it to tug at my heart strings. Especially, since Barnes & Noble had the NOOK book for free.

Rock Candy Kisses is told in the perspective of a girl that was born deaf. It follows her going to college and getting to experience first love with a guy that happens to be the lead singer of a band. Along the way, she learns to open herself to the great opportunities the world has to offer her.

Addison Moore wrote Rock Candy Kisses so that it can be read as a standalone. However, I'm excited to read the rest of the books that are a part of the 3:AM Kisses series because I desperately want to know what happens to the other characters.

Here's a list of some of my other favorite books:

* The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han

* Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins

* The Deal by Elle Kennedy

* Did I Mention, I Love You by Estelle Maskame

* Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

* Leaving Paradise by Simone Elkeles

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
