Whether you're taking on a summer joyride or just trekking back home from college across the country, road trips have some very important requirements. As someone who has undertaken the 25+ hours of driving from Colorado to South Carolina, I'd like to think I know a little bit about the art of road tripping, so here are some things to remember before you head off on your next great adventure.

1. Snacks

No matter how long of a drive it is, you're going to need snacks and lots of them. Make sure you pack things that are good to munch on and don't require two hands to eat, like trail mix, popcorn or grapes.

2. Music

When you're on the sixth hour of Kansas highway, you're going to need some tunes to keep you from going crazy. Don't forget the aux cord and make sure you have a great playlist for the drive.

3. Pillow and blanket

When it's not your turn to drive, you're going to want to rest up and regain your strength. Don't forget a pillow and blanket so you can get comfy!

4. Your trusty chariot

Before embarking on any long journey, it's a good idea to make sure your method of transportation is reliable. Get your oil and tire pressure checked, especially since it could help you get better gas mileage. Make sure you have any supplies you might need like jumper cables and a good spare tire. And don't forget the windshield washer fluid!

5. Be prepared

There are lots of little things you don't want to forget that are vital for road tripping, like wet wipes for all your food messes, water and your phone charger. Make a list and check it twice so you don't realize you forgot something three hours down the road.

6. Get clean

When's the last time you vacuumed your car? Hopefully, before you have to sit in it for hours at a time. Give your car a little sprucing up before you start road-tripping so you won't have crushed up pretzels decorating your pants when you get out for a gas stop.

7. A sense of adventure

Whether you plan every single bathroom break or just play it by ear, a sense of adventure is vital to making your road trip a good time. Buckle up and get ready for fun!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
