Summer is a great time for rest and relaxation after a long semester. You get three to four months without rushing to classes and stressing about assignments and tests. So after a hard semester, what's a better thing to do than take a road trip with friends? During college especially, friends tend to drift apart during the summer because instead of living a ten minute walk away, you now live three hours apart. That can become pretty problematic when you are used to seeing each other almost every day.
You look forward to the summer for eight months so that you can just chill, but chilling at home can get old after awhile. There is only so much Netflix binge watching one person can do, and face it: after you graduated high school, your hometown just has not been the same. So you're left sitting around your house looking for things to do, and you run out of things after the first couple of weeks. So why not take off to go sightseeing with your friends, who, surely, are having the same problem?
A road trip is a great solution to this problem. Even if it's only a short day trip, meeting up with friends during the summer is a great way to reconnect. Road trips are full of laughter and unforgettable memories because you are in the car with your closest friends for hours together with nothing better to do but to catch up on the latest news without having to rush off to class or to study. Plus, what better way to celebrate being done with finals than with the people who helped you through them?
So no matter if it is a day trip or a two week trip -- reconnecting with friends can lead to a great summer full of amazing adventures. The stories you'll tell about them that are sure to last a lifetime, because memories aren't made by sitting at home alone all summer. And besides, how else will you fill up your Instagram and Snapchat stories? Yeah, that's what I thought! It's road trip time! So have fun, and don't do anything you wouldn't want to end up all over the internet, because you know with your friends, it WILL end up there.
