It's Never The Wrong Time To Let The Right Person In

There is no such thing as the "wrong time" to let the right person into your life.

It's Never The Wrong Time To Let The Right Person In
Huffington Post

As one of my dear friends once told me, “There is no such thing as the right person, wrong time – if it is the right person, there is no wrong time.” I never really paid too much attention to that statement until recently, and I have realized that there is great truth woven into those words.

People put such an emphasis on the idea that before you can let someone else enter your world, you have to have everything just right and perfectly aligned on your own. I mean, let’s be real, to think that your life is too hectic to let someone into it is completely ridiculous. Life is hectic, it always will be. Time does not slow down for anyone, no matter how much you may wish it to. So, what point is there in putting people on hold when all that really does is minimize your already diminishing time with them?

If you truly want to be with someone and you believe they are the right person for you, you should be more than willing to let them into the craziness that you call your life. The whole purpose of relationships is to grow together and push each other to reach your greatest potential. No matter how long you wait to see if your life calms down, a storm is always bound to come sooner or later. If you feel that this person is incapable of making the difficult times worth it, then maybe they are not truly your right person. The right person for you will make you feel like you are on top of the world even if the world is crumbling at your feet. Do not waste your time wondering what it would be like if you had never let that special person go. Go out there and be with the person that complements your soul and makes you feel safe, supported, secure, and significant.

As Drake says in "Doing It Wrong," “We live in a generation of not being in love and not being together.” This is because most of our generation is so self-absorbed and frantic over making their own lives perfect that they cannot even fathom putting another person before themselves. So many relationships these days are surviving solely off of the convenience of companionship, but there is no depth to them because people do not want to surrender themselves to that kind of love for fear of messing up their comfortable little lives. People would rather be alone and unhappy than to fight to keep their love alive even through the hard times and struggles. All it takes is a little bit of effort, but even that is too much to ask for from our generation.

There is no such thing as a wrong time to let the right person into your life. Time is only but a concept that we have foolishly given the power to control our thoughts and behaviors. Time is not tangible. We cannot hold time’s hand when it is afraid or kiss its forehead when it is upset. We need to start focusing more on holding onto the people that we love than trying desperately to grasp onto something that will inevitably slip through our fingers and into the past.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
